| "The course is an online affair done at one's own pace. The course material is voluminous. I printed out most of it for personal study beyond the course time-frame and it pretty much fills a two-inch thick binder. There is virtually no fluff. Tons of chart examples of recent vintage explaining the concepts. Alan is (deeply) into price pattern based TA as opposed to heavily featuring indicators. This greatly expanded my chart viewing beyond my old stochastic-rsi-price-look-for-divergence habits. I think the two styles complement each other-he seems to read a chart so well he uses indicators mostly for confirmation of price. Briefly, so I don't run on too long, other features:
Price is for Everyman versus the $3000 guru seminars. This course is not for scalping but for short term trading and (longer term) daytrading. You get e-mail access to the teacher (which is always Alan himself in my experience) and every question was answered with a promptness (sometimes minutes!) and detail that exceeded my expectations. At the end there is an exam and a thorough assessment by Alan of your strengths and weaknesses.
Negatives:
At the risk of sounding like a shill for this fellow (no connection) there isn't much to say on the downside. Sixty days is not long enough to master the material but this can be overcome by the somewhat laborious (in my case-I might have made it more complicated than necessary) process of printing it all out and arranging it in a binder. Futhermore, at the end of the course he invited me to e-mail any further questions, an offer which I have shamelessly exploited over the past month or so, so hard to really criticize a sixty day limit that hasn't been enforced. Oh, there is online lecture that accompanies the course and it is great. He makes a CD-ROM available for an extra $40. " |
