| Nasdaq has several quirks very unfriendly to traders. It's really comprised of three separate markets: behemoth mega-techs, middle tech/industry and a large universe of small caps. Evaluating the Nasdaq Composite requires understanding the current performance of each sub sector. CSCO alone may push Nasdaq into a positive close just by its huge weighting. If you aren't trading the big boys on any given day, make sure underlying market conditions really support your strategy. |
