| Opportunity relates directly to the amount of time that you have to put into market analysis. If you only have a couple of hours per week, forget short-term trading. 1-2 hours per evening is a minimum commitment to trade the markets. Increase the size of your watch lists as available time expands. Success will come more quickly if you trade 2 or 3 stocks properly than if you chase 20 to 30 that you can't follow in detail. Can you or can't you watch the market in real-time? If you can't (or won't), lengthen your holding period to multiple days and use physical stops and limit orders. |
