| Board surfers don't seek the truth. They seek validation for their points of view. Whether you're a bull or bear, you'll find support for your beliefs by scanning the stock boards. Worse yet, you might become a gadfly for your positions. That makes it far more difficult for you to exit when it's time to get out. Never marry a stock position. As a trader, stocks represent numbers and nothing else. If you lack the time, don't even bother to find out what a company does beyond some basic sector analysis. And get away from the boards for weeks or months at a time, and realize that your own opinion is the only one that counts. |
