| Longer-term RSI works well in strongly-trending markets and will accurately signal important market turns. It can uncover a new directional cycle that will persist for months when it changes direction at one extreme or the other. Follow the signal when RSI penetrates the 20-80 level after rapid price change, and then rolls over. This valuable indicator also displays sideways oscillation in mildly-trending markets. Plots may never reach overbought or oversold levels through an extended sequence of thrusts and pullbacks.
