| Fibonacci numbers tie closely into Elliott Wave theory. Fortunately you can apply Fibs with little knowledge of wave motion. Understand that primary trends travel in 5 waves (3 forward and 2 backward) while countertrends move in 3 waves (2 forward and 1 backward). These common mechanics allow easy Fib grid manipulation. Try to place the grid from a double top or bottom through a 5th wave parabola. Then apply subset grids closer to the intended trade setup. Pullbacks from primary trends tend to display A-B-C countertrend motion. In an uptrend, price drops through an A wave, bounces into a B wave that usually won't reach the former high and then drops into a C wave that violates the A bottom.
