| Mastering The Trade uses an overlying frame display to allow different sized monitors and multiple screen resolutions to access the large chart illustrations. The course has been optimized for a 1024 x 768 display on a 17-inch monitor at 16-bit color but can be used comfortably down to a 14-inch monitor or laptop at 800 x 600 resolution and 256 colors. If your display is limited to under SVGA resolution (800 x 600), you likely can't access the course display in an effective manner. |

The ASK button is located within the navigation frame. Use it to pop up a mail message to your MTT instructor. |

You can pop up this navigation FAQ in a new window whenever you need it by hitting the Question Mark button. |

| Screen Layout |
| The course uses three main frames. They may overlap, depending on your screen resolution, monitor size and font size. The center frame bar is RESIZABLE. Move it up, down or out of the way to access each text or graphics presentation. |
| |
| 1. The left frame displays course navigation features: |
| A. The left navigation bar contains a logical menu system. Use it to return to the MTT Home, gateway top or move one sub-module forward or backward in the course. The directional arrows appear in both the navigation frame [1] and the text frame [2]. When the arrow color changes, it indicates a new course module will begin on the following page. |
| |
| B. You can jump to any course module in the current gateway by pressing a color-coded link at the center of the navigation frame. |
| |
| 2. The center (text) frame should always be YOUR FIRST STOP when entering a new sub-module: |
| The center frame provides the main text for the current LESSON, Real Player controls for the LECTURE, resource links for CHARTLAB and descriptive information for LIVE. This frame is always the first place the student should go when entering a new sub-module. |
| |
| 3. The bottom (graphics) frame displays course slide and instructional presentations: |
| A. In the LESSON module, this frame presents 5 links that lead to different instructional highlights for the theme of the current sub-module. In the LECTURE section, it displays slides for each presentation. This frame is not used for CHARTLAB or LIVE materials. |
| |
| B. Look for the Next Step resource box in selected instructive presentations. These valuable links allow interested students to study the current subject matter in much greater detail. Sources include both internal and external web links, as well as a generous assortment of detailed captions from the author's book "The Master Swing Trader". Note: successful completion of Mastering The Trade does not require students to access this additional material. |

HELPFUL TIPS ON SETTING UP YOUR WORK SCREEN: |
- Internet Explorer users can access FULL SCREEN mode or push the address, links and navigation buttons to the top of the screen. You can also shut off the Status bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Netscape Navigator users can collapse the address, navigation and location toolbars by hitting the small buttons on the left side of their screens.
- Reduce font size.
- Increase screen resolution to 1024 x 768.
- Adjust frame size to open screen to current material.

This course is divided into 6 main gateways: Preparation, Analysis, Strategy, Execution, Tools and Examination. Click the Mastering The Trade link in the navigation bar at any time to return to the course home page. You can also access the current gateway outline from the navigation bar. The individual gateway home pages contain descriptions and jump points to specific lessons (sub-modules). These jumps are provided so students can reaccess different lessons with a single click.
The course is designed to move logically through the LESSONS, LECTURES, CHARTLAB exercises and finally the LIVE presentations. This workflow repeats for each gateway module until students reach the last gate. Gateway 6 features a 30 question Examination on topics covered during the course. |
| |
| A. Begin each LESSON by reading the instructional text at #1. |
| This presentation discusses general topic themes for that sub-module. After reading the content, drop down to the lower frame and move logically through slide presentations #2 through #6. PULL THE FRAME UP AND OUT OF THE WAY, if required, to open up the lower slide presentation area. Access the presentations LEFT to RIGHT using the links embedded at the top of that frame. When done, press the color-coded RIGHT ARROW at #7 to move on to the next presentation. |
| |
| B. Begin each LECTURE by pressing the Real Player button. |
| The graphics under the audio frame support the lecture materials. Students experiencing reception problems with Real Player may wish to obtain the 8-hour CD-ROM of the audio lectures and live presentations. This CD-ROM is available for $30.00 to students with 60-day registration. Students with 6-month registration receive the CD-ROM free of charge.
PLEASE NOTE: Hard Right Edge and Brooke Publishers, Inc will NOT assume responsibility for the quality of your Internet connection. |
| |
| C. Begin each CHARTLAB by choosing an exercise from the dropdown menu above the presentation screen. |
| The order of the exercises should be maintained whenever possible because they increase in complexity as the module evolves. |
| |
| D. Begin each LIVE presentation by choosing a workshop selection from the module display. |
| Each live workshop has been divided into 2 separate audio presentations for ease of use. |
| |
| E. The FINAL EXAMINATION is forms-based and consists of multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank and essay questions. |
| Every attempt will be made to provide examination results and input back to the student within 24-72 hours. Following completion of the course, the student is free to review all materials through the end of the access period. This way, real-life trade situations can be compared to the general course teachings. |
| |
| Please Note: Student-teacher interactivity will not extend to advice on specific stock trading situations. However, students may inquire regarding any and all topics featured in Mastering The Trade any time during the access period. It is expected that many legitimate questions will arise as the student's understanding broadens following course completion. |
